Reasons To Love A Winter Wedding

Photography: Tina Wesley

1. Cozy Indoor Ceremony

Picture this, you and your partner meet at the end of the aisle with our cozy fireplace as your backdrop. Your arch or florals are placed in front with added winter decor. Your guests are nice and warm in our indoor ceremony space while they watch you and your partner tie the knot!

2. Seasonal Cuisine and Cocktails

Everyone loves a change of menu! As an added bonus for winter weddings, we like to include different types of cuisine that you wouldn’t see on the summer menu such as Soup Shooters, Milk and Cookies, Our Winter House Salad and more!

Seasonal cocktails are another fun addition to make your winter wedding extra special!

Some of the winter cocktail names we love are:

“Frosted Margarita”

 “Snowball”

“Sugar Cookie Martini”

And so many more, it’s so hard to choose!

3. Vendor Availability

Wedding season normally starts in May and doesn’t end until mid-November. During peak season is when vendors’ pricing will be highest and their availability will be the lowest! Having a winter wedding almost guarantees the ability to have your choice of vendors for your special day with discounted prices.

4. Seasonal Bridesmaids Dresses and Floral Colors

You have many different dress options for your bridesmaids during the winter time! From color range to style the possibilities are endless. Choose from long sleeve, mid sleeve, short sleeve or tank top with a shawl over. And of course your bouquet has to match! You can add in beautiful silver painter flowers and have white, red, green or blue to really match the winter theme!

5. Winter Wonderland Vibe

We love decorating The Briarcliff Manor to fit the “Winter Wonderland” vibe! We don’t only put up lights outside and decorate around our fountain but we also hang lights on our staircases, put up Christmas trees and decorate our fireplaces with garnish! Of course you can bring your own decor for your wedding day, our decor just helps add an additional touch to the winter wonderland wedding theme.
We also have two outdoor fireplaces that are available for those who need to step outside for a moment during your wedding.

The additional touch of snow glistening in the background of your photos makes them extra magical and elegant. Even though it’s winter time, there are still endless photoshoot spots on The Briarcliff Manor’s property to take stunning outside photoshoots on your wedding day!
