Who knew when Danielle and Dylan met their senior year in High School, that they would one day end up celebrating their Wedding Day here at The Briarcliff Manor! Take a look at how their love started, where their love took them and how they ended up honeymooning in Disney World! Dreams really do come true for this young couple…
Question: How did you two first meet?
Answer: We first met at a pool party our senior year in high school.
Question: What was your first impression of each other?
Answer: Our first impression was a good one. We immediately clicked and became friends.
Question: What was your first date?
Answer: Our first date was going to a local diner to eat dinner.
Question: Who said ‘I love you’ first?
Answer: Dylan said “I love you” first.
Question: What is the most memorable date that you two shared?
Answer: Our first trip to Ocean City was a very memorable date. We go to Ocean City together every summer since.
Question: What are your nicknames for each other?
Answer: Our friends call us DMAN and DWOMAN, after this video game thing, and we have adopted the nicknames for each other as well.
Question: Is there a favorite spot you two share?
Answer: Our favorite spot is Ocean City. We both also love Dominican Republic.
Question: Who met the in-laws first?
Answer: Dylan met the in-laws first. Danielle surprised him with a visit to her parent’s house, and he was very nervous to meet them.
Question: What are your favorite things about each other?
Answer: Dylan’s favorite thing about Danielle is how kind and caring she is. Danielle’s favorite thing about Dylan is his laugh.
Question: Do you have a special tradition on Valentine’s Day?
Answer: Dylan sends me flowers at work every Valentine’s Day.
Question: When did you know that you were going to propose to her?
Answer: Dylan knew he was going to propose years ago after we kept dating through our first year of college.
Question: What was your proposal like/where was it?
Answer: Dylan proposed in the best way! We have an adult Easter Egg hunt every year. Easter is my favorite holiday. Dylan hid the ring in a golden egg. He proposed when I found the ring in the egg! I was so surprised! My whole family was there! We then had fireworks go off and released butterflies! Butterflies are very special to me so that meant a lot to have during the proposal!!
Question: How did you feel when he proposed?
Answer: I felt so happy when he proposed! I was ready for it!
Question: How long have the both of you known each other?
Answer: We have dated about 8 and a half years before getting married. We met our last year in high school.
Question: What was your favorite part of your wedding day?
Answer: Our favorite part of the wedding was having all of our friends and family together, the great atmosphere and food at The Briarcliff Manor, and the dancing! The ceremony was perfect; really perfect.
Question: How would you describe the style or theme of your wedding?
Answer: I would describe the theme of my wedding as Romantic and Elegant.
Question: What did you look most forward to? The wedding day, the ceremony, the honeymoon?
Answer: We both were looking forward to the wedding day! So much went into that one day!
Question: What was the most fun detail of your wedding to plan?
Answer: We really enjoyed picking out the cake! Planning flowers was fun too (for Danielle).
Question: What was the most unique detail at your wedding?
Answer: I love butterflies, and there were butterflies hidden in a lot of things, such as on the cake. Another unique thing was during the ceremony. We have a recording of my grandma, who passed away, singing, and we played it during the ceremony.
Question: What was your something borrowed, something new and something blue?
Answer: Something old- my ring pillow was made from my grandma’s wedding dress and my wedding band had diamonds from her wedding band, my garter was blue, and my dress was new as well as my shoes.
Question: To the Groom: What were you thinking when you saw her walking down the aisle?
Answer: Dylan- when I saw her walking down the aisle I was thinking how nervous I was.
Question: What is the first thing the groom noticed about the bride when she walked down the aisle?
Answer: Dylan- I noticed how beautiful she looked! Her dress looked great on her.
Question: Is there anything from your wedding day that you will keep as memorabilia?
Answer: The top part of our cake was fake, and we persevered and kept it. We also have the book with all the pictures from the photo booth. I saved my wedding bouquet too, and air hung the flowers!
Question: What is “your song” and why?
Answer: Our wedding song was “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran. Even though it is a very popular song, I loved that it talks about finding your soulmate young and growing old together, as Dylan and I met in high school.
Question: Who was your maid of honor and why?
Answer: My maid of honor was my sister. I have only one sister and we are very close despite being six years apart. Since I was very little I would have never imagined picking anyone but my sister as my maid of honor.
Question: Who was your best man and why?
Answer: Dylan- one of my best friends since I was a child was my best man. He has always been there for me and has become like a brother to me.
Question: Did you have your honeymoon yet? How was it/where was it?
Answer: We went to Disney World for our honeymoon! It was so much! Dylan had never been there before! It was great to see Mickey!
Question: How would you describe your wedding day in one sentence?
Answer: If we had to describe our wedding day, we would say it was perfect. We both feel it was the best night of our lives. It truly was a fairytale come true. Not everyone gets to say that truthfully, but I had such a blessed day in every way!
