Question: How did you two first meet?

Answer: The pair met at Marist College… Michael started to hang out with Emily’s friends during Michael’s senior year, Emily’s junior year.

Question: What was your first impression of each other?

Answer: Emily: “I don’t really remember my first impression of him when we met. I remember thinking he was nice, but we didn’t become close friends until a few years after we graduated.”

Michael: “I thought she was pretty”

Question: What was your first date?

Answer: “We didn’t really have a first official date. We were hanging out, and went to California Pizza Kitchen for dinner.”

Question: Who said ‘I love you’ first?

Answer: Emily did, the night before his birthday.

Question: What is the most memorable date that you two shared?

Answer: “Seeing Harry Potter live in concert.”

Question: Is there a favorite spot you two share?

Answer: Marist College.

Question: Who met the in-laws first?

Answer: Michael met Emily’s parents first.

Question: What are your favorite things about each other?

Answer: Emily: “How understanding and relaxed Michael is”.

Michael: “How caring Emily is.”

Question: Do you have a special tradition on Valentine’s Day?

Answer: Michael makes dinner for Emily every Valentine’s Day.

Question: When did you know that you were going to propose to her?

Answer: Emily: “During our first year dating, Michael knew we were going to get married.” Nothing was specifically planned until the day Emily asked Michael to go ring shopping.

Question: What was your proposal like? Where was it?

Answer: Emily: “Michael wrote the proposal in our “love note” book, which he places on the counter for me to see when she walked into the apartment, lined the hallway with rose petals, and was on one knee, in the bedroom, when I walked in after work on May 24,2017. He also made dinner that night.”

Question: How did you feel when he proposed?

Answer: “I was ecstatic.”

Question: How long have the both of you known each other?

Answer: Emily: “We had known each other for about 4.5 years before he proposed.”

Question: What was your favorite part of your wedding day?

Answer: Emily’s favorite part: Seeing Michael cry when she walked down the aisle.

Michael’s favorite part: The reception, in general.

Question: How would you describe the style or theme of your wedding?

Answer: Our overall theme was love letters. We gave each other love letters during the ceremony and placed them into a mailbox, our favors were notebooks that said “love notes”, we had love letter signs, our guest book had envelopes to put love notes from the guests in. Throughout our relationship, Michael and Emily would write letters to each other in a notebook they had. When Michael proposed, he wrote his proposal down in that notebook. The night before the wedding, Emily gave Michael a different notebook she had been writing letter to him in for the past 2 years.

Question: What did you look most forward to? The wedding day, the ceremony, the honeymoon?

Answer: Both: “The wedding day”.

Question: What was the most fun detail of your wedding to plan?

Answer: Both: “The music and food”.

Question: What was your something borrowed, something new and something blue?

Answer: Emily: “Something old was the hair piece in my hair. It was originally my Grandma’s pin that was changed into a hair piece. Something new was my dress/veil. I did not have something blue.”

To the Groom: What were you thinking when you saw her walking down the aisle?

Answer: Michael: “It’s happening, I need to stop crying”.

Question: What is the first thing the groom noticed about the bride when she walked down the aisle?

Answer: Her dress

Question: Is there anything from your wedding day that you will keep as memorabilia?

Answer: Emily: “I have everything. I have a copy of our program, menu, invitations, signs that I will be putting into a scrapbook. My flowers have been preserved and put into a shadowbox with my hair piece.”

Question: What is “your song” and why?

Answer: Emily: “Although our wedding song was “Perfect”, our song is “I Choose You” by Sara Bareilles. The song has a lyrics referring to love letters “The very first words of a life long love letter” was a sign at our wedding.”

Question: Who was your maid of honor and why?

Answer: The maid of honor was Gracie, Emily’s younger sister.

Question: Who was your best man and why?

Answer: My best man was Greg, Michael’s twin brother.

Question: Did you have your honeymoon yet? How was it? Where was it?

Answer: Emily: “Not yet. We are going to Disney World over Christmas. It will be Michael’s first time.”

Question: How would you describe your wedding day in one sentence?

Answer: Both: “The best party we have ever been to!”
